The device (300) can include a photon- ic superlattice (310) including a first material, the first material having a first refractive index. The first material can include first and second major surfaces (311, 312) and first and second pluralities of features (313, 314) defined through at least one of the first and second major surfaces (311, 312), the features of the first plurality (313) differing in at least one characteristic from the features of the second plurality (314). The photonic superlattice (310) can support propagation of a first wavelength (ki) and a second wavelength (k2) approximately at a first angle out of the photonic superlattice (310), the first and second wavelengths (k 1 , k 2 ) being separated from one another by a first non-propagating wavelength that does not selectively propagate at the first angle out of the photonic superlattice (310). The device further can include a second material having a second refractive index that is different than the first refractive index. The second material can be disposed within, between, or over the first and second pluralities of features (313, 314) and can include first and second luminophores (321, 322). The device (300) further can include a first optical component (330) disposed over one of the first and second major surfaces (311, 312) of the first material. The first optical component (330) can [Continued on next page] WO 2017/165703 Al MIDEDIMOMOIDEIR010130HIONMEHMODEVOIMIE Declarations under Rule 4.17: as to applicant's entitlement to apply for and be granted a patent (Rule 4.17(ii)) as to the applicant's entitlement to claim the priority of the earlier application (Rule 4.17(iii)) Published: with international search report (Art. 21(3)) before the expiration of the time limit for amending the claims and to be republished in the event of receipt of amendments (Rule 48.2(h)) receive luminescence emitted by the first luminophore (321) at the first wavelength (k i ) approximately at the first angle, and can receive luminescence emitted by the second luminophore (322) at the second wavelength (?2) approximately at the first angle.
