Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wettable coating layer excellent in resistance to attacks on mating materials as well as in self-wear resistance. SOLUTION: The coating layer is a wettable sprayed coating layer C for a sliding member 10, which is formed on the sliding surface of a base material M by plasma or arc thermal spraying. This coating layer is composed of a sliding-surface material of copper-base alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 7-11% Al, 0.5-8% of one or >=2 elements among Fe, Ni, and Mn, and the balance Cu.
