Abstract

An adjustable three-phase transformer is disclosed. On the secondary side of the transformer, a controllable power electronic circuit (1) is inserted between a set of main windings (21, 22, 23) and auxiliary windings (31, 32, 33). The circuit comprises two oppositely coupled AC/DC converters (2, 3) each having three parallel branches with commutating semiconductor devices (T1, T2, T3). The latter are controllable so as to enable adjustment of the voltage amplitude and phase at the output terminals (a, b, c) of the transformer.
