Abstract

As connecting device for a data network, a connecting box (15) contains a circuit board by means of which two BNC sockets (16, 17) and at least one switched socket (18) are connected to one another. In order as far as possible not to interrupt the coaxial system of the data network in the region of the connecting box (15), the circuit board is constructed as a multilayer board, with the conductor tracks (43) extending between two shielding conductor surfaces (41, 42). The switched socket (18) is surrounded for the same purpose by a tightly fitting screening plate (44). In the case of the associated connecting cable, the plug-in part (24) of the plug (23) is likewise surrounded by a screening plate (46), with the result that the coax-like conductor guidance is continued here, as well. The connecting device therefore reliably meets the transmission requirements, such as immunity to radiated interference and low signal distortion. <IMAGE>
