Abstract

Process for the extraction of terpenes from wood during drying of timber in a drying plant, comprises removing from the plant the gas mixt. evaporated from the wood, contg. terpenes and opt. other volatile materials, then cooling the gas in a condenser at a pressure at which water but not the terpenes condense, and then subjecting the remaining gas to a significantly higher pressure at which the terpenes will condense.
