Abstract

A measuring device for measuring the liquid/dry matter mixture ratio and a method of determining the liquid/dry matter mixture ratio. The device is a thin blade-like rod (1) arranged in a process pipe (3), the device forming an electric field with a frequency varying within a certain range between the electrode (2) and the process and the process pipe (3), which functions as the second electrode. In the method an alternating current having a fixed frequency is conducted through the liquid/dry matter mixture, whereby the proportions of capacitive and resistive current can be determined on the basis of the phase difference of current caused by the liquid/dry matter mixture. Thereby the proportion of capacitive current describes the liquid/dry matter mixture ratio and the proportion of resistive current describes the impurities occurring in the mixture. (Fig. 1)
