Abstract

The gears are engaged and disengaged by operating shift rods (16) with a switching shaft (8) which projects into the gearbox and which has on an end part (22) inside the gearbox housing (12) a U-shaped motion transfer lever. One end of the lever is fixed on the switching shaft and the other end forms the entrainment member. This entrainment lever is directed at least in the main inwards against the longitudinal axis of the switching shaft and is provided for engagement in the shift rods on the side of the rods directed away from the longitudinal axis. ADVANTAGE- The entrainment member engages from underneath into the switching rods so that the switching shaft can be set at a lower level for compact design.
