Abstract

Water is sprayed with a specific droplet size distribution over a ballast material (5,6,7). By producing an air current with a fan (4) through and around the ballast material the water-saturated air is continually removed. This produces a balanced process. It is important that the water content in the ballast material does not remain too high. Control of the spray interval and the air current is by a control computer.
