Abstract

The selected trunks (1), e.g. pine trees, are transported to the saw assembly, comprising double reducing cutters and band or circular saws, to cut longitudinal sections. The halves of the double reducing cutters (4,5) and band or circular saws (6,7) form an angle between 60 and 150 degrees, between reducing or sawing directions. The trunks are transported through the saw unit by a conveyor (8a), attached to the trunk ends.The angle between blades may be 90 or 120 degrees, that is either 45 or 60 degrees to the vertical plane.
