Abstract
Thermoplastic microspheres, unexpanded or expanded, which contain chlorine-free aliphatic fluorocarbons or fluorohydrocarbons. Chlorine-free aliphatic fluorocarbons or fluorohydrocarbons are used as blowing agent at the production of expandable thermoplastic microspheres. Expanded microspheres containing these blowing agents have very low densities. The use of the specific blowing agents also gives other advantages, especially with regard to fire and insulation properties and the microspheres are thus especially suitable for use in fire-resistant paints and insulation materials.
