Abstract

The container is used for transporting dangerous bulk material by road or rail. It has a rectangular plan form with a foot (10') at each corner and these feet (10') are supported on two parallel beams (10). The lower part of the container is conical and converges towards the outlet which can be closed to form a gas tight joint by a sliding cover (14). When this cover is fully retracted the full cross-section of the outlet is completely free. The top of each container has four projections (18) which can engage holes (20) in the beams (10) of a second container to enable the containers to be stacked one upon another.
