Abstract

A pressure modulator for a hydraulically operated anti-lock brake system and/or a drive slip regulating system for installation in a motor vehicle, having at least one piston (10) operatively connected via a flexible tension member (8), which is arranged to run over a guide pulley (7), to a shaft (6) and to an electromagnetically operable friction clutch (1), so that the stroke of the piston (10) is arranged to be controlled by the torque transmitted by the clutch (1). The or each piston (10), which is displaceable against the bias of a spring (12), is provided at its end remote from a pressure chamber (4) of the modulator with a further guide pulley (9) over which the flexible tension member (8) is guided. <IMAGE>
