Abstract

A process for covalently binding biologically active proteins to solid carrier materials having functional groups on the surface, whereby, in a first reaction step, the particularly reactive amino groups of the protein are modified with a reagent which can be removed reversibly under controlled conditions, in a second reaction step the protein is reacted with the functional groups of the carrier material, in a third reaction step the remaining functional groups of the carrier material are chemically blocked and in the final reaction step the modifying groups formed from the reagent are split off in a controlled reaction is described.
