Abstract

A cross-linkable, more especially a sulphur-vulcanisable, rubber mixture based on natural rubber and/or synthetic polyisoprene is used as a pad-like rubber element in belted tyres having a high tensile strength. The rubber mixture contains only minimal or even zero proportions, up to a maximum of 10 pphr, of reinforcing filler substance (carbon, black or silica). In the event of an increased build-up of heat in the vulcanisate obtained, the high minimum value of the tensile strength is thereby maintained.
