Abstract

The invention relates to a wet-treatment process for purification and heat utilisation of all the flue gases and exhaust gases (off-gases) resulting from the combustion of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, and is particularly suitable for use in medium-size and small heat plants. The purpose of the invention is to specify an effective and universal process in which the flue gases or exhaust gases are brought into contact, by means of a jet scrubber or jet-driven appliance, with a scrubbing fluid, and which ensures optimal provision of the momentum exchange conditions and of the purification and heat exchange process while minimising the investment and operating cost balance. According to the invention, for this purpose, admixture takes place, either to a circulating scrubbing fluid in the region between liquid pump and jet nozzle of the jet scrubber or appliance, or to a scrubbing fluid generated outside the wet-treatment installation, in the vicinity of a separate discharge line run to the jet nozzle, of a high-temperature gas or gas mixture whose temperature is above the boiling temperature of the scrubbing fluid. The gas or gas mixture is preferably taken from the ambient air, the flue gas stream or the purified exhaust gas stream.
