Abstract

A gripper (3) secures the severed wire or strap, and a movement mechanism (42) removes it away from the package. Both the gripper and the cutter (1) act on the wires or straps on the upwardly turned side of the package. The retention frame (2) incorporates a turning device (12-14) which holds the package (55,56) in a first position within the working range of the cutter, and when it turns the package over, the latter is moved to a second position within the work range of the gripper. The turning process involves a first package side turned upwards in the first position, and the opposite side thus turned in the second Position.
