Abstract

The invention relates to a latent heat store having non-decomposing melting substances which high capacities for inputting heat into and extracting heat from the store and without thermal stresses. These stores represent effective systems for relieving or supplementing conventional energy generating systems and for balancing temporal fluctuations between the incidence of energy and the requirement for energy. They are preferably provided for matching heat consuming systems to the conditions for the use of heat. According to the invention, an active store filling is proposed which consists of four material systems. Material system I consists of one or more materials with heat-storing properties which exhibit no decomposition phenomena when melting. Material system II is formed by a heat-transporting means which is incapable or only conditionally capable of dissolving material system I. Surface-active materials are contained in the material system III, while material system IV consists of one or more nucleators.
