Abstract
The invention is an image processing device for determining position and orientation of an object with a standard shape with the help of a video signal obtained from a TV camera (1) in a stationary position aimed at the object. The device has a window memory, (6) which has several preselected windows with predetermined forms, each covering part of the image obtained from the TV camera. A window result memory (9) has at least one memory cell for each window and can be addressed from the window memory. An addition circuit (10) obtains a digital signal based on the TV camera's input signal on the first input and the content of the memory cell in the window result memory (9) of the window, which contains the actual image point in the signal from the TV camera, on the second input. After addition, the circuit (10) saves the result in the same memory cell in the window result memory. After each image acquisition, a comparison device (8) compares production values in the selected cells in the window result memory with production values of a reference object with a specific position and orientation. Based on the result of the comparison, at least one parameter is determined per image acquisition for the object's translation or turning in relation to the reference object.<IMAGE>
