Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating heat exchangers and to an associated thermal transfer arrangement with priority applicability in heat source media with a relatively large biological, physical and, in part, chemical degree of contamination, for example sanitary and kitchen waste water, the most varied industrial waste waters, natural flowing waters etc. It is the aim of the invention to guarantee with the aid of very simple and reliable means an effective possibility of thermal transfer which is distinguished both by stable and improved heat transfer capacities by substantially reduced costs for production, material and maintenance. The object is essentially to avoid stoppages in the flow region of the thermal source medium as well as blockages of the contact surfaces. This object is achieved according to the invention when these contact surfaces of the heat exchanger are subjected to a completely automatic free movement, depending on the flow conditions, inside the flow region of the thermal source medium. The thermal transfer elements according to the invention which are required for this purpose consist of freely movable, hose-like, elastic materials. <IMAGE>
