Abstract

This invention concerns a prefabricated foundation beam for houses, intended to be mounted on separate pressure plates etc. and designed to be dimensioned for the appropriate primary bending stresses caused by its own weight and usable load from the building resting on the foundation beam, and for the appropriate secondary bending stresses which can arise while it is being worked on, handled and fitted.The prefabricated foundation beam consists of two longitudinally parallel construction units (1) and (2), consisting of concrete beams reinforced with sheet metal sections (3), the upper one with Z- or L- shaped cross-section and the lower one with L- or I- shaped cross section, designed to withstand appropriate primary and secondary bending stresses, and, between these construction units (1) and (2), a pre-cast thin mesh- or fibre-reinforced concrete plate (4) designed to be the waist of the I shaped beam which has construction units(1) and (2) as flanges, and to provide support for the earth employed. The prefabricated foundation beam further consists of an appropriate number of fastening components (5) for fixing and spacing the sheet metal sections (3) in the body of the casting, and for application of any lifting devices when the finished foundation beam is handled.<IMAGE>
