Abstract

The firing tube (1) is for a projectile (3) provided with a rocket drive motor and an elongate combustion chamber (5) which communicates with a space (12) behind the projectile via a nozzle (6). After the projectile has been fired, the space is set under a pressure which exceeds that of ambient atmosphere, and which strives to counteract the gas outflow through the nozzle. - The pressure in the space is produced by at least one fixed powder charge in the tube.(1)
