Abstract

The disc valve comprises a housing (10,11) forming a closed chamber (31) around a rotatable disc (16). The disc has a hole which, when aligned with inlet and outlet apertures, opens a connection between a pipe mains under vacuum and a waste water collection point. The closed chamber is connected to the atmosphere via a check valve (27).
