Abstract

With a hatch cover comprising a number of horizontal displaceable panels (11-15) a stowing space for the latter is provided at one end of the hatch opening. When the hatch is open, the panels are stowed in a vertical stack and are handled by a lifting means (26), which extends above the stowing space and comprises means (32, 33) for connection to a first panel. Clutch means (45, 48) at the panels are adapted for automatic inter-engagement, as the panels are moved into the stowing space, or to be disengaged when the panels are pulled out of the latter. The clutch means includes pivotably mounted hook members (45) adapted to co-operate with studs (48), and the hook members are activated by guides having stationary stops (50) at the stowing space. <IMAGE>
