Abstract

The appts. converts data in electrical form to that of optical and vice versa, the optical data comprising light with intensity varying in time, and/or light polarisation, and/or spectral composition. The data conversion is with the aid of electro-optic modulators, such as a floating crystal arrangement, and photo-detectors. The modulators and detectors are connected electrically and optically to other components so that electro-optic reflex circuits are obtained in which optic modulators (2) are located in the radiation path between light sources (5) and photo-detectors (1), the detectors being back-coupled to modulators (2). The reflect circuits contain photo resistances (12,18) provided with optic filters (13,19) to receive separate spectral response curves. (Provisional Basic advised week K24).
