Abstract

An installation for mixing pumpable radioactive wastes with a solidifier substance in which the solidifier and radioactive wastes are introduced into a storage container which can be retained on a stand. The stand includes tilting means and also driven roller means for rotating the container and against which it is supported when it is in tilted position. The tilting means provides a repetitive swinging motion to the stand so that the container is oscillated about an axis orthogonal to the axis about which it it rotated by driven roller rotating means. The combination of these two motions for the container results in greatly improved mixing.
