Abstract

A method for reinforcing a structural floor structure such as a concrete slab in an existing building, such that a larger payload may be imparted relative to the original design load of the structure, where a desired prestress is introduced into the concrete slab by tension rods 3 of steel. The method is characterized in that bolts 2 or similar are drilled into and fastened in the lower face of the slab at a distance from each other, and that a rod 3 of substantially the same length is subsequently mounted between said bolts 2 by means of and between a pair of opposed consoles 1, such that a force may subsequently be imparted to the rod 3 in a known manner, whereby the force is transferred to the slab via said bolts 2.
