Abstract

A slide-mounted window construction is convertible from a horizontally hung to a vertically hung version by a supporting bracket 32, the outer end of which is connected to the midpoint 33 of the window unit 20, being disposed on a pivot pin 38 of a detent shoe 39 such that it can be pivoted by its end connected to the frame 10, 14. The detent shoe 39 is configured as a hook, which engages with a hook 16 of a hook profile 15 belonging to the frame 10 and is placed between the web 17 of the frame profile and a slide shoe 45. The slide shoe 45 constitutes a slide fastening for the window unit 20 and is pivotably connected thereto by means of a pivot pin 48. In the vertically hung version of the window construction, the detent shoe 39 is screwed by a screw 77 to the web 17 of the frame, the window unit directed perpendicularly out from the frame assuming the position indicated by V. In the slide-mounted, horizontally hung version, the detent shoe 39 is free to slide along the hook 16 in the same way as the slide shoe 45. In this case, an articulated bracket 42 is connected between a hinge 43 on the supporting bracket 32 and a positionally fixed hinge 44 on the frame 10. In a perpendicularly swung-out, horizontally hung window unit 20, the brackets 32', 42' and the window unit 20' assume the position marked H, the pivot pin 33 having moved along the line E to its outer position 33'. In order to achieve smooth opening, shutting and reversing motions, the distance S = 53 +- 1% of the distance L and the distance B = 115 +- 2% of the distance L. The pivot pin 38 of the supporting bracket 32, which pivot pin is connected to the frame 10, is located level with the hook 16 of the hook profile 15 and the pivot pin connection 48 of the slide shoe 45 to the window construction 20 is located, when the window is shut, level with the sealing rabbet 18 of the frame 10, whereby the frame and the window unit can be configured with essentially the same daylight measurements even when the window opens outwards. <IMAGE>
