Abstract
In order to facilitate starting-up a gas turbine installation having an air reservoir (19) when the air reservoir is not charged, a prime mover (11) of low power drives a compressor group (7) and the air compressed in the low-pressure stage (8) of the latter is guided into a separate low-pressure stage (4) of a gas turbine assembly (1), the combustion chamber (5) of the low- pressure turbine stage being fired after the ignition speed has been reached, and the gas turbine installation is run up to the nominal speed. After attainment of the nominal speed and thus the distribution network frequency, a motor-generator (14) is connected to the network (37), and for only charging the air reservoir, the gas turbine (1) is disengaged from the motor-generator (14) at clutch (1 3) and the motor- generator (14) takes power from the network to drive the low pressure compressor (8); furthermore, the medium pressure and the high-pressure stages (9, 10) of the compressor group (7) may be additionally connected to the reservoir in dependence upon the charging state of the air reservoir (19). <IMAGE>
