Abstract

A vehicle sun visor assembly has a swivel joint at one end of the visor (1) including a housing (3) and one end portion of a visor shaft (4) mounted therein; a counter support shaft (5) disposed at the other end releasably securable to a plastics counter support housing (6) mountable in the vehicle; and a mirror (7) associated with an electric bulb (8) connectable to the vehicle's electric system. Both the support housing (6) and support shaft (5) are each provided with at least a current- transmitting contact element, that (11) of the housing (6) being connectable both to a supply lead (10) and to the shaft's (5) element (14) which is connected by a further supply lead (17) to one of the bulb's (8) two contacts. The support shaft (5), is integral with a plastics bracket (12). Each contact element (14) is held in an undercut radially inwardly tapering groove (13,) so that a portion of the element overlays a respective portion of the shaft's (5) circumference for contacting the housing's (6) contact element (11). The shaft's (5) contact elements may be a split bushing or one of two types of claws. <IMAGE>
