Abstract
A powder charge (6) and its ignition fuse (5) are arranged at the front of the shell (1) of the projectile. This charge is intended to push the active bodies (2), via a pressure plate (3), against the detachable base (4) of the envelope and to cause the separation of this base (4) and the ejection of the active bodies (2) from the shell (1). With a view to transmitting to the bottom (4) the pressure force necessary to separate it from the rest of the shell (1), while limiting the pressure acting on the active bodies (2) and ensuring their ejection from the shell, a piston (7) is arranged between the charge (6) and the pressure plate (3), in contact with the plate (3). The piston (7) is mounted slideably in the direction of the base (4) over a short distance defined by stop ribs (9-10) and has a channel (8) limiting the passage of the powder gases towards the pressure plate (3). <IMAGE>
