Abstract

The intended type of firing, that is to say impact, slow or delayed firing previously had to be set before the projectile was launched. The present circuit installed in the projectile makes it possible, in interaction with a suitable transmitter, to set the type of firing, the time of arming of the fuze and the firing delay time during the flight of the projectile. For this purpose, the electronic circuit contains a receiver (56) for a carrier frequency which is modulated with repetitive trains of pulses of different width, and a demodulator (64) which converts the pulses into different binary signals. Furthermore, a shift register (66) is provided in which the sequence of binary signals corresponding to the pulse train is stored. The binary signal sequence forms a code character for one of a number of possible types of firing of a projectile fuze. The circuit contains at least one oscillator (50) with a constant frequency, the pulses of which are counted in a counter (60), starting at the time of arming. When a predetermined number of pulses has been counted in the counter, firing is triggered. To shorten the running time of the fuze, the received pulses can also be counted in the counter in addition to the pulses of the oscillator. <IMAGE>
