Abstract

1498315 Strip closures for packages ZIRISTOR AB 27 April 1976 [2 May 1975] 17026/74 Headings B8T B8C and B8P A package 1 has its pouring opening covered by a reusable strip 5, e.g. of acryloplastics, which is characterized in that the area covering the opening has one or more recesses 8, two are shown, the or each of which extends only partially around the edge of the opening and is provided with a lip which underlaps the edge of the opening. The opening is preferably of oval shape. A strip (9), Fig. 2 (not shown), of impervious material, e.g. polyethylene film, is sealed, preferably by heat sealing, to the underneath surface of cover strip 5 and to the inside surface of the package. During manufacture of the package, openings are punched in a web, strips of material are applied to opposite sides of the web to cover the openings, the strips on one side forming the impervious layers and those on the other the cover strips, and then each pair of strips is thermoformed by deep drawing with simultaneous heat sealing of the strips to one another.
