Abstract

According to the invention the package is produced by folding and thermowelding a sheet of a complex material whose internal layer is made of a thermoplastic material whose structure has layers which can be peeled off after heat sealing. In addition, the leak-tight closing of the upper portion of the package is obtained by a line of heat sealing (27) produced between the two large lateral faces (4) and between the two small lateral faces (5) which are folded over, at a distance of at least ten millimetres from the upper edge (28) of the upper portion of the package (1). According to the preferred embodiment of a coffee package, a first heat sealing is carried out, after filling, in two separate zones, of each outermost portion of the upper strip constituted after folding, a first zone at the future transverse line (27) and a second at the corner of the strip; after vacuum filling with coffee and applying the transverse line of heat sealing, the two corners of the strip are cut off at an angle, the strip is folded over towards a large lateral face (4) and it is held against this face (4) with the aid of an adhesive tape (29) of which only the end (30) is not adhering. <IMAGE>
