Abstract

In order to prevent resin exudations in the manufacture of paper, paperboard and cardboard, a phosphonic acid compound is added alone or together with aminopolycarboxylic acids and/or hydroxy acids or alkali metal salts thereof in quantities from 0.02 to 1.0%, relative to dry stock, to the resin-containing cellulose pulp or wood pulp during processing. In place of the aminopolycarboxylic acids and/or hydroxy acids, or additionally thereto, orthophosphoric acid and/or polyphosphoric acids or alkali metal salts thereof can be added.
