Abstract
1462867 Foundry moulding DANSK INDUSTRI SYNDIKAT AS 24 June 1974 [25 June 1973] 30151/73 Heading B3G A system for making sand moulds with one or more cores comprises a machine for successively making and depositing on to a conveyer, mould sections M with their joint faces in engagement to form a string of moulds, a core making machine on one side of the mould string and including a core box A, B openable in a direction parallel with the mould string whereby a core mask F can receive a core from a section of the core box and be moved in two directions perpendicular to one another to transfer the core to the end mould section of the string. In Fig. 2 the core box section A separates from the section B to allow the mask to move therebetween and receive the core from section A. Alternatively the latter, with the moulded core may be moved perpendicularly to the core box axis to align with the core mask which then aligns with the mould string. The core box of Fig. 4 includes a rotary part B with opposed mould cavities and an axially movable part A whereby a core may be moulded during transfer of a preceding core to the mask. Alternatively the part B, with two mould cavities, is axially movable between two mould boxes. In Fig. 6 an array of four core boxes A, B is mounted on a turntable R whereby the boxes are brought, in turn, to a core discharge position where the boxes are opened and the cores received by the mask. A core making machine may be positioned on both sides of the mould string, each associated with a core mask, which operate alternately on guides. The cores may be hardened by gas fed into the boxes. In Fig. 10 a rotary table R carries four core boxes A, B, and at the core discharge station the part A is engaged by a member 54 with apertures 58 receiving guide pins 57 extending from part A; the pins are held by magnetizing coils 59 so that when member 54 is retracted and the coils energized the part A is removed. The parts B also have apertures and coils to receive the opposite ends of the pins so that the parts A, B are held together.
