A process suitable for forming a hard rubber keypad comprises filling a mould with either (a) an epoxy resin or (b) a diallyl phthalate/acrylate copolymer or (c) polycaprolactone resin, hardening the mixture and then adding silicone rubber to the hardened mixture for heated combination at 100-180‹C for 2-15 minutes. The silicone may be liquid extruded silicone rubber or solid press-mould silicone rubber. The keypad formed by this process can then be subjected to printing treatment or can be coated with a layer of a metal such as Ti, Cr or Au and then laser engraved.
