Due to the elongation of the sleeves in the area of the neck part of the holder profiles, any contact between the edges of the holder profiles and the brush is prevented. Special machining, eg bending of the edges of the holder profiles, thus becomes unnecessary. As a result of the sleeve extended in the direction of the visible bristles, an optimal clamping of the brush is obtained and an improvement of the sweeping action, since the brush emerging from the two sleeve ends runs parallel to each other, thereby enlarging the contact surface of the brushes with the ground. In the area where the brush emerges, moreover, any buckling of the brush is avoided, which is particularly evident in the brushing of steel wire in an extension of the life of the brush.

The sleeve shape according to the invention can be produced in a simpler way than the known salmon tail shape, since the sleeve at the latter during bending must bend around an inner core, which is not required for the brush according to the invention.

In an even simpler design in terms of manufacturing technology, according to the invention, the hollow cross-section of the holder profiles in the folding area is bulged to one side approximately to the L-shape. Since this only one leg of the sleeve is pressed in, a simpler bending tool can be used.

Holder profile and sleeves are generally formed of sheet metal.

A steel plate with a thickness of approximately 0.75 mm is suitable for the sleeve, while a strip steel with a thickness of approximately 2 mm is suitable for the holder profile. For the brush material, steel, polypropylene or perlon are preferred.

The invention will be described in more detail in the following with reference to exemplary embodiments which are illustrated in the accompanying drawing. Fig. 1 shows a schematic cross-section through a plate-shaped brush. According to Fig. 1, the plate-shaped brush body 1 essentially consists of a cover bowl 2 and a bowl 3 supporting the bristle bundles. In the central area, where the bowls lie flat on top of each other, they are firmly connected to each other. For connection to the drive head of a sweeper (not shown), the two bowl parts form a central opening 4 for receiving the pin to a drive shaft. For the connection of the two cup parts, opposite holes 5 for screws are provided in the parts in the area of their hub.

The brush supporting cup 3 is designed as a deep-drawn sheet metal piece with an angular cross-section in the peripheral area. The individual brush bundles 7 are located in holder profiles 8 which are attached, for example welded, to the outer angle leg 9 of the bowl 3.

According to Fig. 2, the brush 10 in each brush bundle 7 consists of durable flat steel wire, for example of the cross-sectional dimensions 2.8 x 0.45 mm. The individual wires are then included in the interior of a sleeve 11 and bent in accordance with the shape of the sleeve. The sleeve 11 is inserted into a holder profile 12 with a hollow cross section formed corresponding to the sleeve 11. The holder profile 12 is attached to the crew side of the plate-shaped brush body 1. By suitable design, the sleeve can be made to be firmly fixed inside the holder profile with a press fit and while utilizing the pretension in the legs of the sleeve.

Fig. 3 shows a cross-section symmetrical holder profile 12a. It is clear that the hollow cross section of the holder profile l2a tapers to a neck in the area of the orifice cross section of the holder profile. The sleeve ends 13 protrude through the neck part, which are extended in the direction 1 of the brush 10 in relation to the edges 14L of the hair profile. Fig. 4 shows a cross-section asymmetrical holder profile 12b, in which a sleeve is unilaterally pressed in. Both embodiments according to Figs. 3 and 4 enable resilient clamping of the sleeve in the holder profile 12a and 450 928 4 12b, respectively, and as a result of their extended sleeve ends 13 give the brush 10 a safe and rectilinearly controlled clamping.

A stronger sweeping effect can be achieved by further extending the sleeve ends 13 further over the dimension shown in the drawing in the direction of the free brush ends. In Figs. 2-4, the brush 10 is shown in truncated condition.
