Abstract

In a vapour compression system employing a positive displacement screw compressor 1 and two expansion devices 5 and 8, vapour from a liquid separator 6 passes to an intermediate pressure inlet 12 of the compressor 1. The intermediate pressure inlet may comprise a plurality of openings arranged on a helical line which has the same pitch as the rotor thread, Fig. 2 (not shown).
