Abstract
1,096,179. Inverters; control of A.C. motors. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. April 15, 1965 [April 17, 1964], No. 16244/65. Heading H2F and H2J. A polyphase inverter comprises a number of single phase bridge inverters each supplying one phase of the output. The output voltage is controlled by rapidly turning on and off the individual converting elements. Turn off is effected by a single capacitor (C K in Fig. 1, which shows a known arrangement) connected in a bridge of thyristors across each of the main converting elements S. The elements S each comprise three thyristors in parallel. Reactive current diodes D and surge current limiting chokes L<SP>1</SP> are used and de-coupling chokes (L<SP>11</SP> in Fig. 3, not shown) may be included in the D.C. lines to each single phase inverter bridge.
