Abstract

[Also in Division F4] An illuminated make-up mirror having means for varying the colour and quality of the light source, comprises a mirror 2 mounted in a frame 1, the frame enclosing fluorescent tubes and incandescent bulbs located on each side of the mirror behind lenses 16 and 17 arranged to direct the light on to the face of the user. A threeway electric switch 4<SP>1</SP> allows either the fluorescent or the incandescent light source, or both of these, to be selected. Light filters 7 (see Fig. 4) are situated between the light sources and the lenses, and can be rotated by control knobs 14 and 15. The filters have three sides 7a, 7b and 7c, each of a different colour (e.g. blue, yellow and clear respectively) so that when they are rotated the colour of the illuminating light is varied correspondingly. An alternative type of filter consists of a cylindrical sleeve composed of longitudinal strips of differing colours. The filters may be rotated simultaneously by a single central control knob operating a rack and two pinions.
