Abstract
Dry cement compositions adapted to be mixed with water comprise a hydraulic cement as principal ingredient, a liquid epoxide resin having at least two terminal epoxy groups and a water activatable epoxide resin hardener. The compositions may also contain fillers, pigments accelerators and resinous modifiers. The water activatable hardener may be the carbaminate form of a polyamine, an acid salt of a polyamine plus a strong base, polyamine complexes of metallic salts and hardeners absorbed on molecular sieves. Hydraulic cements specified include Portland cement, plaster of Paris, aluminite cement and Sorel cement. When mixed with water the compositions are useful as tile adhesives and grouts.ALSO:Dry cement compositions to be mixed with water comprise an hydraulic cement as principal ingredient, a liquid epoxy resin having at least two terminal epoxy groups and a water activatable epoxide resin hardener. The compositions may also contain fillers, pigments, accelerators, e.g. metal halides and resinous modifiers. Hydraulic cements specified include portland, aluminite and Sorel cements and plaster of Paris. Lists of other components are given. When mixed with water the compositions are useful as tile adhesives and grouts.
