Abstract

1,079,932. Automatic exchange systems. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. Oct. 28, 1964 [Nov. 2, 1963; Feb. 14, 1964], No. 43951/64. Heading H4K. The contact operating coils of multi-armature relay selector switches, such as described in Specification 891,873, are connected into matrices for selective operation by marker switches. The coils are connected at the matrix cross points in series with rectifiers. Pulses transformer coupled to a row and column wire simultaneously are sufficient to overcome a back bias on rectifiers associated with each row and column wire. A coil is identified by the matrix in which it is situated as well as its row and column co-ordinates. As shown in Fig. 2, each row and column wire of each matrix 1 to k can be supplied with a marking voltage by an output winding of a transformer U1 to U4. The output windings of each transformer supply the corresponding row and column windings in each matrix. In selection of a required matrix one of the contacts M1 to Mk is closed to connect a back biasing voltage into a path common to all the row wires of the matrix. The two transformers corresponding to the wanted row and column wires are selected by the coincidence of row and column pulse trains J1 and J2 on two cores in a saturable core matrix K1 to K4. The alternating output of the cores switch transistors Ts1, Ts2 to provide an alternating input to the selected transformers. The rectifiers and centre taps of the output windings of the transformers provide a full-wave rectified output to overcome the bias and operate the relay.
