Abstract

1,127,514. Cyclone separators. BAHCO A.B. 13 March, 1967 [28 April, 1966], No. 11665/67. Heading B2P. The cyclone is similar to that of Fig. 1 Specification 1127513 but the invention is concerned with the adjustability of the guide vane ring in the conical portion of the cyclone so as to regulate the flow of gas therein. A number of cyclones 22 may be mounted in parallel in a common casing 21 and communicate with a common outlet 23 for the clean gas. The tubes 25 supporting the guide vane rings 26 and the clean gas discharge slotted tubes 24 are fastened to a rod 27 adapted to be raised and lowered by means of a link system 28. Adjustment of the vane ring, in the case of a single cyclone, or of each vane ring, in the case of an arrangement of cyclones as shown, may be automatically controlled by pressure sensing means which measure the pressure-drop in the cyclones. Alternatively, the pressure-sensing means may be connected to an indicating instrument which can be read when adjustment of the guide vane ring is effected manually. The cyclones may be horizontally arranged.
