يتعلق الاختراع بطريقة للتحقق من علامات أمنية security marking شاملة عند مركب التوهج اللاحق الطويل long afterglow compound القادر على بث ضوء توهج متألق لاحق طويل afterglow luminescence light في نطاق طول موجي wavelength معين، تسمح الطريقة بالكشف عن وجود ومقدار مركب التوهج اللاحق الطويل المذكور بناء على مقارنة قيمة الشدة الأولية المقاسة لمكون طيفي spectral component للضوء المنبعث في نطاق الطول الموجي المذكور ووقت التوهج اللاحق ذو الصلة مع قيم مرجعية مناظرة تمثل قيمة مقدار مرجعي لمركب التوهج اللاحق الطويل الأصلي. يتعلق الاختراع بقارئ ونظام قابل للعمل لتنفيذ خطوات الطريقة. شكل6
