Description
The group of technical solutions relates to the field of radio engineering and electronics. Such designs can be used in devices in which thermal circuit requirements and limited overall dimensions are imposed on printed circuit boards.
From Japanese application No. 2006165333, H01L 25/18; H01L 25/065; H01L 25/07, publ. 06/22/2006 a device is known in which a flexible printed circuit board is glued to one of the surfaces of a multilayer printed circuit board having a through hole. In this hole, a semiconductor element is mounted on a flexible circuit board. On top of it, another semiconductor element is installed. The connection of these elements with the upper layer of the board is carried out by wire. Then the hole, together with the semiconductor elements located therein, is poured with a compound.
The disadvantages of this design include poor thermal conductivity due to the location of the semiconductor elements on a dielectric flexible printed circuit board, as well as the complexity of the design.
The closest technical solution to the proposed designs is a printed circuit board (German application No. 4105885, H05K 1/02, publ. 09/09/1991) containing a metal base with an insulating layer located on it, on the surface of which a conductive layer with electronic components is formed. Moreover, recesses are formed on the metal base from the side of the insulating and conducting layers to minimize the influence of heat fluxes from the elements of the printed circuit board on each other.
The disadvantage of this design is the location of the recesses of the metal board on the side of the insulating and conductive layers, as this affects the heat removal from the electronic components and increases the heat capacity of the structure.
The technical result of the proposed solutions is to reduce the heat capacity, as well as the size of the structure.
The technical result is achieved in that the printed circuit board contains an electronic component mounted on pads located on a dielectric layer formed on one of the surfaces of its metal base, made with a recess. Moreover, the recess is formed on the opposite surface of the metal base opposite the electronic component. Moreover, the electronic component and the contact pads are covered with a protective material.
In the second embodiment, the printed circuit board contains an electronic component mounted on pads located on a dielectric layer formed on one of the surfaces of its metal base, made with a recess. Moreover, the recess is formed on the opposite surface of the metal base, in which a through hole is made with an electronic component located therein, connected to the contact pads through holes made in the dielectric layer. Moreover, the space in the recess around the electronic component is filled with a heat-conducting dielectric. Moreover, the contact pads are covered with a protective material.
The essence of the proposed technical solutions is illustrated by drawings.
На фиг.1 изображена печатная плата с электронным компонентом, установленным на поверхности контактных площадок (вариант 1).Figure 1 shows a printed circuit board with an electronic component mounted on the surface of the pads (option 1).
На фиг.2 изображена печатная плата с электронным компонентом, установленным в металлическом основании (вариант 2).Figure 2 shows a printed circuit board with an electronic component mounted in a metal base (option 2).
1.In the first embodiment, the printed circuit board contains a metal base 1 (Fig. 1), on which, on the one hand, a dielectric layer 2 is applied with contact pads 3 located on it, and, on the other hand, a recess 4 is made, the dimensions of which are selected so that the thickness of the remaining part metal base 1 should provide the required thermal diffusivity of the structure. An electronic component 5 coated with a protective material 6 is installed on the contact pads 3 above the recess 4. This material protects the electronic component 5 in the case of a slightly polluted medium, i.e. at a low probability of mechanical destruction by particles of the flow of the environment, such as sand particles. The presence of a dielectric layer 2 having low thermal conductivity, allows you to isolate the heat flow of air to the electronic component 5 from the metal base 1.
The metal base may be made of aluminum alloy, copper or brass. The dielectric layer can be formed by polyimide varnish, enamel, organosilicate coating, etc., the conductors of the contact pad are made using standard photolithography, and the protective material is made of heat-conducting adhesive or organosilicon composition.
As the electronic component 5, a sensitive element, for example a thermistor, can be used. Then the proposed solutions can be used as a sensor of any of the environmental parameters, for example, a temperature sensor. In this case, the accuracy of the measurement of these parameters is increased, since the sensitive surface of the element will have a maximum contact area with the environment and a minimum contact with the body of the device, and the temperature of the metal base will less affect the accuracy of the measured values due to the presence of recesses that reduce the thermal air flow to the sensor from the base.
In the second embodiment, the electronic component 5 (figure 2) is located in the metal base 1. In this case, as in the first embodiment, in the metal base 1 on the opposite side of the application of the dielectric layer 2 with the contact pads 3 is a recess 4. In the recess 4 of the metal of the base 1, a through hole 7 is cut out, exceeding the dimensions of the electronic component 5. Over the through hole 7 in the dielectric layer 2, holes 9 are made through which an electronic mponent 5. The contact pads 3 are executed increased sizes compared to the size of the openings in the dielectric layer to provide a durable mounting of the electronic component 5 and the enhanced heat dissipation into the environment. This design option is used in devices with more stringent requirements for printed circuit boards in terms of overall characteristics, as well as in more polluted environments.
The space in the recess 4 around the electronic component 5 is filled with a heat-conducting dielectric 8 to ensure a more durable installation and thermal operation. The filling of the recess 4 may be partial or complete. On top of the contact pads 3 are covered with a protective material 6, for example varnish or heat-conducting adhesive.
Thus, these designs are characterized by the most protected position of the electronic component from mechanical particles of the environment.
The operation of the device is as follows.
2.When the heat air stream moves, it interacts with all structural elements. On the one hand, this flow from the metal base 1 to the electronic component 5 reduces the recess 4, and on the other hand it is insulated by the dielectric layer 2.
Thus, the heat capacity of the structure is reduced.
In general, using the proposed solutions will increase the reliability of the device.
Based on the foregoing, it can be concluded that the proposed technical solutions achieve the claimed technical result, namely, the heat capacity of the structure and its overall characteristics are reduced, and also these solutions satisfy the patentability conditions of the utility model: novelty and industrial applicability.
