Abstract

FIELD: analytical chemistry of toxicants. SUBSTANCE: analysis involves oxidation of adamsite with 20% hydrogen peroxide in a slightly alkaline (pH 7.6) medium in presence of redox indicator. Concentration of total arsenic in a sample under examination is determined by way of diluting the sample with a mixture of 25% alkali and concentrated hydrochloric acid and subsequently heating the sample and recording analytical effect. Method is distinguished with that, to mineralize the sample, acid-base reagents are used at ratio of sample to alkali and acid solutions 10:1:2 at 450 C followed by recording optical density to calculate total arsenic in the sample. Use of bipolar aprotone solvent (acetone) for aromatic amine (redox indicator) and a mixture of 30% hydrogen peroxide with 0.002 N alkali makes it possible to perform quantitative analysis of diphenylaminochloroarsine, which leads to improvement of basic metrological characteristics of the method and increase in output of mass analyses of samples by a factor of 3-4. Method may be employed in military and industrial indication and also when it is necessary to solve problems associated with destruction of chemical weapon and carrying out environmental examination on various areas. EFFECT: improved sensitivity, accuracy, reproducibility of analysis, widened accessible concentration range, and simplified procedure.

The invention relates to analytical chemistry, namely this substance, its detection and quantitative determination of adamsite and its decomposition products, can be used in military and industrial indications, as well as in solving problems of the destruction of chemical weapons and during environmental assessments at various facilities. The aim of the invention is to increase the sensitivity and reliability of determining the degree of decomposition of expressness, reducing the value of the analytical background, expanding the range of determined concentrations and simplifying the technology of mass analysis of used samples containing arsenic-containing physiologically active substances. This is achieved by the fact that the oxidation of adamsite is carried out with 20% hydrogen peroxide in a slightly alkaline medium at a pH of 7.6 in the presence of a redox indicator. And the concentration of total arsenic in the test sample is determined by eliminating this sample with a mixture of 25% alkali and concentrated hydrochloric acid, followed by heating this sample and fixing the analytical effect. The difference between the proposed invention is that when mineralizing the sample, acid-base reagents are used at a ratio of the sample and the mixture of alkali and hydrochloric acid solutions equal to 10: 1: 2 at a temperature of 450 o С with subsequent registration of optical density for calculating the total arsenic in the test sample . And the use of a dipolar aprotic solvent (acetone) for an aromatic amine (redox indicator) and a mixture of 20% hydrogen peroxide and 0.002N alkali allows quantitative analysis of diphenylamino chlorosine, which leads to an improvement in the basic metrological characteristics of the proposed method and an increase in the performance of mass analysis the investigated samples 3-4 times.
