Цель изобретения - упрощение способа получения железооксидного катализатора путем твердофазного синтеза. Для этого в качестве активного железосодержащего компонента используют шламовые железооксидные отходы гальванического производства, в качестве связующего - смесь природных материалов, содержащих в своем составе оксид алюминия - глину, каолин, а также упрочняющие добавки - тремолит или волластонит, тальк и порообразующую добавку - активный уголь.
