Abstract

FIELD: automotive industry; methods and devices to prevent unauthorized use of automobiles by means of identification codes. SUBSTANCE: special letter-and-digit visible and invisible code marks are applied to main parts and assemblies of automobile. Code of vehicle is entered into data bank of manufacturer and traffic control services and automobile owner receives a coupon certifying that his automobile has been coded in compliance with preliminarily designed route map. This coupon contains data on technology of making and application of code marks which can be used in identification of automobile. Possibility is provided for the owner to use additional code and select places of its application. These data are also entered into data bank. Visible code marks are made according to adopted technology, with height of symbols from 5 to 8 mm, width 2-5 mm, depth of application 0.3-1.0 mm. Geometric parameters of code marks also serve for identification of automobiles and their parts. To provide maximum protection of vehicle at reasonable limit of code marks used, route map specified code deviations which can indicate counterfeit. For instance, visible code marks are applied horizontally on outer surfaces of windshield and backlight glasses along lower edge of glass at a height of the order of 20 mm from its lower sealing strips, on windshield glass at the right side from driver looking from interior opposite to passenger seat, on backlight glass at the left side behind driver's seat, and on side drop window glasses, at right and left sides in rear lower corner. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of protection.

The invention relates to the automotive industry, and in particular to methods of preventing unauthorized use of vehicles by ensuring the identification of encoded vehicles. A feature of the present invention is the provision of special marking by applying a visible and invisible image of an alphanumeric code on the main parts and components of the car, entering the code of the encoded funds into the databanks of the manufacturer and the traffic control services, and issuing to the holder of the coupon that his car is encoded in accordance with a pre-compiled route map. In addition, this coupon is filled with information about the manufacturing technology and the application of the code, which can be used to identify vehicles. Another feature, according to the method, provides the opportunity for the owner to determine an additional code and places for its installation, information about which is also entered in the data banks. Visible codes are carried out in accordance with existing technology with a designation height of 5-8 mm, a width of 2-5 mm, and a depth of application of 0.3-1.0 mm. The geometric parameters of the code symbols also serve as a verification factor in the identification of vehicles and their parts. In order to limit the encoded parts of the car to a reasonable limit, while ensuring the maximum degree of protection in the route map, details of the deviation code from which may indicate a fake are precisely stipulated. For example, on the outer surface of the front and rear windows, a visible code is applied horizontally, along the lower edge of the glass at a height of about 20 mm from its lower seals, to the frontal edema - on the right side when viewed from inside the passenger compartment opposite the passenger seat, on the rear window - on the left side behind driver's seat, on the side windows that fall down - on the right and left sides in the lower rear corner.
