Abstract

FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: boosted steering gear has steering member 12 operated by helmsman and power plant 14 provided with lever 38 for turning it about steering axle 42. System is located between steering member 12 and power plant 14 separately from it. Operation of system is based on hydraulic principle due to action on steering wheel 12. Drive gear train set in motion under action applied to steering wheel 12 is connected with steering gear booster 10. Booster 10 has piston-cylinder hydraulic pair and hydraulic fluid source. Devices for control of fluid flow through booster 10 are connected with drive gear train. Output devices, mainly gear train, are connected with booster 10. Actuating devices 30 such as two-side rope linkage are connected with gear train and steering lever 38 to overcome moment of resistance of power plant 14 when it turns relative to steering axle 42 to ensure required motion of steering member for turn of power plant 14 about steering axle 42. EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
