Abstract

The utility model relates to agriculture, in particular to beekeeping, and is designed to detain and capture swarm queens during swarming.

The technical result and the task is to increase the performance of the trap for swarm queens, simplifying its design and maintenance.

The trap includes a housing, a flange for attaching the trap to the wall of the hive and a handle. Distinctive features of the prototype are the following:

- the body is made in the form of a cylinder with a cap and a nose with a cap;

- the walls of the housing contain slots for the exit of working bees.

The proposed trap consists of a housing 1, a flange 2 for mounting the trap on the wall of the hive. Knob 3 serves to carry the trap. Roof 4 closes the trap from the end. The trap contains a spout 5 with a cap 6. In the body there are slots 7 for the passage of working bees.

The proposed trap is made as a prototype of plastic and tested in an apiary. It can be manufactured industrially on automatic plastic lines.

Tests have yielded positive results.

Design documentation has been developed.

Description

The utility model relates to agriculture, in particular to beekeeping, and is designed to detain the uterus during swarming.

Known trap for swarm bees. It has the appearance of a bucket with a handle.

A well-known device used to remove swarms that have grafted high on trees. The device resembles a butterfly net. A funnel-shaped bag made of rare canvas sewn to a wooden or wire hoop is fastened to the pole at some distance from its end. To tie the bag after shaking the bees in it, you can use a strong cord, swollen in the form of a loop in the upper part of the fabric sewn to the hoop, the cord is pulled through the ring located at the end of the pole, and passed down the pole. It is enough to pull such a cord by the end after shaking the swarm - as the loop will be tightened, tying the bag. The scoop can be equipped with a cover. The pole at the end is equipped with an iron hook.

A swarm is known for the removal and temporary storage of swarm bees (swarms). It became widespread under the name “Butlerova’s Swarm”. at the top and bottom on the case there are hoops that press in these places a stretched wire mesh or a rare canvas. The disadvantage of this war is that it can only be used to remove and temporarily store swarm bees and cannot be used to hold the uterus during swarming. Its design does not allow installation on a tray, skipping drones, working bees and holding a swarm uterus.

Known wire trap for queens and drones consists of two sections of the upper and lower, separated by a horizontal partition, into which two ends of a frequent metal mesh are inserted. The entire front part is covered with a wire dividing grid. The uterus and drones, unable to exit the hive through the grate, pass through the cones into the upper section, where they fall into the trap.

It can accumulate up to a liter of drones, where they soon die. Empty the trap and set it in place if the bees are not outgrowth. When the bees swarm the uterus they catch in the upper section, the trap is removed and tied to a tree branch or a vertically installed garden

rake. As soon as the bees gather in the club on a trap with the uterus, they are all transferred to the hive.

Its disadvantages are that it is difficult for bees loaded with nectar to access the hive, and there is no nose for the drones to exit the hive. Significantly deteriorates the ventilation of the hive so necessary during the main bribe. These shortcomings do not allow to achieve the technical result created by the proposed utility model. To limit the number of drones, only honeycombs with cells for working bees are used. See the book "Encyclopedia of beekeeping" M. ed. "Ear" of 1964, p. 315, 316, Fig. 7, 8. This trap is taken as the closest analogue, prototype.

The technical result and the task are to increase the performance of the trap for retaining the uterus during swarming, simplifying its design and maintenance.

This is achieved by technical solutions that are in a causal relationship with the technical result.

The essence of the claimed utility model is expressed in the aggregate of the following essential features.

The above set of essential features in comparison with the prior art allows us to conclude that the proposed technical solution meets the criterion of "novelty."

The proposed trap of swarm queens works as follows.

When there are signs of an early swarming of the bee family, a trap is put on the hive’s notch and secured to the hive’s wall using flange 2. Housing 1 is supported from below with a stick or board, which will collect swarm bees and drones. While swarming does not occur, worker bees carry medical products, passing through the cracks 7 of the body. There is constant ventilation of the hive. During swarming, swarm bees exit through slots 7, and the uterus remains trapped or in the hive as it is larger and cannot pass through the cracks. Beard bees will settle on a framed board, stick or bushes and trees.

Remove the trap from the letkovoy valve. Swarm bees left without a uterus return to the hive. This achieves the technical result created by the proposed utility model.

If necessary, remove the drones from the hive; put a trap on the notch; remove the cap 6 from the spout 5 to exit the drones. Drones larger than working bees, leaving through spout 5, cannot enter through slots 7 and spout 5, and die from a nest. All drones will be deleted within one business day.

The proposed trap for the detention and capture of swarm queens is made as a prototype of plastic and tested in an apiary. It can be manufactured industrially on automatic plastic lines.

Tests have yielded positive results. Design documentation has been developed.
